A Grill at the Center

A kabab house is built around one thing: a grill running all day. At Zamzam Kabab that grill turns out the chicken kebab, the beef chapli kabab and lamb, each cooked over live coals and served with rice, salad and fresh nan. The rest of the menu fills in around it, from mantu to start to Kabuli Palau for the table. It is Afghan cuisine the way Kabul eats it.

The dining room has teal walls, wood screens and arched paintings of Kabul and Mazar-i-Sharif, with booths for families and tables for two. Come in to dine in, or order ahead and collect your food with curbside pickup. We are at 2400 K Ave B in Plano, a short drive for most of the city. The grill runs through lunch and dinner, and the whole menu is on offer.
